The organization of the international tournaments called EMPIRE Indoor Tennis Tour 2022 in the TC EMPIRE Trnava club is an exceptional event that has no parallel in the history of Slovak tennis. This is a challenging occassion in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation (ITF), which itself considered our club an ideal place for holding such a rich number of tennis events.
The winner Nr. 11 of the biggest women's tennis tournament in Slovakia, EMPIRE Slovak Open 2019, became Bernarda Pera (USA). In the Trnava finals, she beats Anna Blinkova in two dramatic sets 7-5, 7-5, and receives 15 239 USD and 140 WTA ranking points.
Strings on tennis racquet can strongly affect player’s performance during the tournament, so every such top event needs a leading expert in this field. Expert for EMPIRE Slovak Open is since 2009 in-Samorin-born Robert Nagy. He is the man, who can string a tennis racquet in six minutes, although it happens really in exceptional cases. However, when we talked about his work, we learned a lot more about him.
Women’s EMPIRE Slovak Open being held in May 2019 will be again the biggest women's tennis event organized in Slovakia. From season 2013 it’s an official International Slovak tennis Championships played outdoors. This tournament is played for 11th time at EMPIRE Tennis club on number 11, Hajdoczyho street in Trnava.
No. 2 seed at the EMPIRE Slovak Open 2019 tournament Vera Lapko (20) is a young and very promising talent from Minsk, Belarus. She was No. 60 in the singles WTA already and in 2016 she became the best junior in the world as No. 1. At that time and even before, Tereza Mihalikova from Slovakia was one of her opponents on the junior tour. They played together in the grandslams doubles finals and they were fighting against each other for Australian Open 2016 singles title.
EMPIRE Slovak Open after 4 years of waiting knows again winner from Slovakia. The biggest clay court event in Slovakia, its 10th edition, was dominated by 20 years old Viktoria Kuzmova, who overwhelmed in the finals Veronica Cepede-Royg of Paraguay in 3 sets 6:4, 1:6 and 6:1. It is the most valuable title of her career so far.
Sunday's EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018 singles final will feature Slovak player Viktoria Kuzmova. She beat in Saturday's semi-finals Yekaterina Alexandrova (RUS) after a battle royal in 3 sets 7:5, 5:7, 6:4 after 130 minutes. In the second semifinal Veronica Cepede-Royg (PAR) defeated Anna Blinkova (RUS) 6:3, 6:0 in 64 minutes. Final match will also be broadcasted LIVE on RTVS 2, starting 12:30 PM.
Slovakia will have singles semifinalist at the biggest clay court tournament in Slovakia EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018.
Viktoria Kuzmova was successful today at both her matches, first against Madison Brengle (USA) 6:4, 7:6 and then she also defeated number 1 seed Johanna Larsson (SWE) 6:0, 7:6.
